Coming into the audio world, there aren’t many low-cost, high-quality film caps. Many of the commonly available are a little edgy sounding, adds an unwanted shhh effect, and sings along with the music due to lose windings, voids, poor-quality films, etc.
The first Obbligato was made for a 300B WE connection with extra tight winding, no voids, and thick-coated aluminum film imported from Germany. It’s immediately noticeable that Obbligato sounds smooth and transparent.

2006 Copper Series

In 2006, we had our first Obbligato Caps with a solid copper case. They’re wound tight with no voids; thus, they give a very transparent, smooth sound. A small start with 7 values.
2009 Copper Series

The series is expanded to 13 values.
2009 Gold Series

2018 Ultra Series
DISCONTINUED. succeeded by 2023 Silv Series
This is our most expensive series. However, due to the high cost and high MOQ, only a few values have ever been made. As of August 2024, a few remaining stocks are still available.
2022 Copper Series
Replace 2009 Gold Series
A new way of manufacturing makes it ideal for DIY projects. The characteristic of it is:
- Smooth and transparent sounding
- Reasonable price
- Low MOQ, almost any value between 0.001uF and 100uF is available.
2023 Silv Series
Replace 2018 Ultra Series
This series is an upgrade on top of the 2022 Copper Series
- Smoother and more transparent sounding than the 2022 Copper Series
- Reasonable price. A little more expensive than the 2022 Copper Series.
- Low MOQ, almost any value between 0.001uF and 100uF is available.
